Tigers set 172-run target for Sri Lanka

Tigers have set a 172-run target for Sri Lanka after they were put in batting first in their first match of the Super 12s phase of the ICC Mens Twenty20 World Cup at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah in UAE on Sunday (October 24).

Bangladesh, thanks to two brilliant fifties of Mohammad Naim and Mushfiqur Rahim, scored 171 runs losing four wickets in 20 overs.

Mohammad Naim hit 62 runs off 52 balls with six boundaries and Mushfiqur Rahim (unbeaten) smashed a quick 57-run innings from 37 balls which includes 5 boundaries and3 2 over boundaries.

Shakib Al Hasan posted 10 runs off 7 balls with two boundaries while opener Liton Das scored 16 runs from 16 balls with two boundaries.

Afif Hossain added 7 runs to the tally from 6 balls while Mahmudullah Riyad (unbeaten) registered 10 runs off 5 balls.

For Sri Lanka, Chamika Karunaratne, Binura Fernando and Lahiru Kumara shared a wicket each.
