896 teachers get MPO benefits

The government has brought 896 teachers and staff under the monthly pay order (MPO) scheme.

In a meeting, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) took the decision on Sunday. DSHE Director General Prof Dr Syed Golam presided over the meeting.

The new MPO will be effective from this month (November).

Under this scheme, non-government teachers get their basic pay as well as some monthly allowances from the public fund. Among the teachers and staff, 209 from Dhaka, 50 from Barishal, 71 from Chattogram, 53 from Cumilla, 98 from Khulna, 87 from Rajshahi, 189 from Rangpur, 95 from Mymensingh and 37 from Sylhet will enjoy the MPO facilities.
