DU-affiliated college students to announce new programme today

Staff Correspondent: Students of the Dhaka University (DU)-affiliated seven colleges will disclose their decision this afternoon as their seven-day ultimatum to the DU authority ends today (Saturday).

They gave a seven-day ultimatum to the DU authority to meet their several demands including trial of their fellow Moniza Akhter Mitu’s death.

They also demanded to reevaluate the examination papers and publish the results of Mitu-a second year student of Economics Department of Begum Badrunnesa Government Girls' College of 2018-19 academic year.

She was committed suicide on July 16 for being failed in her honours examination.

Hundreds of students blocked the Nilkhet intersection and threatened that they would go for tougher movement if their demands were not met within the ultimate time.

The seven affiliated colleges are - Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Begum Badrunnesa Government Mohila College, Mirpur Government Bangla College, and Government Titumir College.
