Singer-composer Ankit Tiwari ties knot with Pallavi Shulka

Entertainment Desk: Singer and music composer Ankit Tiwari tied the knot with fiancée Pallavi Shukla today. Ankit who is known for super-hit tracks Sunn Raha Hai Na Tu and Teri Galiyaan exchanged vows in a private ceremony today in Kanpur.

Ankit and Pallavi got engaged recently and the singer posted on his social media account, “I will spend an eternity loving you, caring for you, respect you, showing you every day that I hold you as high as the stars. Finally engaged.”

Ankit’s grand-mother and Pallavi Shukla were traveling in the same train and his grandmom arranged their match after she liked Pallavi. “Once daadi announced that Pallavi would be the family’s daughter-in-law, everyone agreed. I’m happy that the family is happy and a little nervous too. She is a very sweet and simple girl. During our first meeting, there were 10 others seated between us,” he told a leading daily.

“I’ve introduced her and her family to my work and life in Mumbai where she will live after marriage,” Ankit had said.

Ankit was recently acquitted of rape charges after he was accused by former girlfriend. The court dismissed the charges after the prosecution failed to support their claim. Ankit was earlier arrested in this case and had spent time in jail. “The police could not trace the witnesses, which included the medical officer had examined the girl. The other guests were also not found,” defense lawyer Rizwan Merchant had told a leading daily.
