HC orders medical services for Manna

Staff Correspondent: High Court (HC) has ordered the jail authority to provide medical services Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna at Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital (BIREDEM).

Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice Kazi Md Ijarul Haque Akondo passed the order following a hearing a supplementary petition on Tuesday.

Lawyer Idrisur Rahman and Shahdeen Malik standed for Mahmudur Rahman while Deputy Attorney General Iyadia Zaman represented the state.

Two cases were filed against Mahmudur Rahman Manna with Gulshan Police Station on February 24 and March 5 last year on charges of provoking the army and sedition, respectively.

Manna was arrested on Feb 29 last year.
