JU JCD leader killed in road crash

Staff Correspondent, Savar: A student of Jahangir Nagar University (JU) was killed as a pickup van hit him at Dairy gate area of the university on Dhaka-Aricha highway on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam Tusher, student of Statistics Department of the university, also Vice-President of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) of JU unit. He hailed from Charfashion of Bhola.

Akbar Ali, Inspector of Ashulia Police Station, said a speedy pickup van hit Tusher while he was getting on a bus at Dairy gate area on Friday afternoon, leaving him critically injured. He was immediately rushed to Enam Medical College and Hospital in Savar where attending doctors declared him dead.
