Man held over making death threat to PM, MP on FB

A 50-year-old man was held for a Facebook post threatening the Prime Minister, MP and upazila chairman to be blown out by bombs.

Detective Branch (DB) of Police held him conducting a drive at Jatrabari area in the capital on Monday evening.

He was known as Jasim Uddin Khandoker, son of late Abdul Matin of Durgapur under Begumganj upazila in Noakhali.

On Tuesday, Jasim was sent to jail through court in a case filed in this connection.

Earlier, DB SI Ashiqur Rahman filed the lawsuit and Jasim was shown arrested.

Kamruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the district DB police said Jasim posted a post on Facebook threatening the PM to be blown out by bombs. He also threatened to blow out PM's official residence Gonobhaban and threw derogatory comments over MP, upazila chairman and mayors.
