New probe body if police fail: Home Minister

Staff Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said his ministry will form a new probe body to uncover the real fact behind injuring the Titumir student, if the investigation by the police committee is not satisfactory.

The Minister told this to the reporters while replying to a query at a press conference on Tuesday noon.

The press conference was arranged on "July 26, The International Day of Misuse of Drug and Illegal Trafficking".

Meanwhile a three-member probe body was formed to inquire into the incident of injuring Titumir student Siddiqur Rahman, he added.

He said it causes heavy traffic congestion across the Dhaka city if the busiest intersection Shahbag is stopped for an hour. For this, police have been directed to be alert so that no rally-conference can be held there.
