Students clash with cops at Shahbagh: 3 hurt

Staff Correspondent: At least three students were injured in a clash with police in the capital’s Shahbagh on Thursday morning.

The injured two students are Siddiqur Rahman of Government Titumir College and Mainul Islam of Dhaka College. They have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). 

Students also claimed that police detained at least nine students.

Students of seven government colleges that have recently been affiliated with Dhaka University clashed with police while staging demonstration at Dhaka’s Shahbagh demanding seven points including announcement of dates and schedule for their examinations.

Following the clash, vehicular movement from Shahbagh to Science Laboratory intersection remained halted.
