Worker dies after falling from IU under-construction building

A construction worker was killed after falling from an under-construction building of Islamic University in Kushtia on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Monirul Islam, 26, son of Khairul Islam, a resident of Mondolpara area of Harinarayanpur union in the district.

Monirul fell down from the fifth floor of the Business Administration Faculty building while he was working there around 9:30am and died on the spot, IU Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman confirmed.

On information, police recovered the body with the assistance of IU proctorial body and handed it over to the deceased’s family members, the OC added.
