Closure of educational institutions extended till Feb 14

The government has again extended the closure of all educational institutions (except Qwami madrasas) across Bangladesh till February 14 in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus or Covid-19.

This was confirmed in a press release of the Education Ministry on Friday.

The decision was taken after discussing with Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni and concerned authorities.

The government first ordered all the schools, colleges and universities across the country to shut down on March 17, after the first cases of Covid-19 in Bangladesh were reported on March 8.

Since then, the shutdown has been extended several times, with the latest one issued on Friday.
