Emergency meeting to take decision on 7 DU-affiliated colleges

An emergency meeting regarding the movement and demands of students of seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University (DU) is underway.
The meeting begins on Wednesday (February 24) noon.
Confirming the matter to risingbd, MA Khair, public relations officer of the Education Ministry, said “The meeting has begun this noon due to the ongoing movement of students although it was supposed to be held this evening."
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Secretary of Secondary and Higher Secondary Division Md Mahbub Hossain, DU Vice Chancellor, Pro VC and principles of seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University have joined the meeting virtually.
Students of seven colleges affiliated with the Dhaka University (DU) on Wednesday morning blocked the busy Nilkhet and New Market roads in Dhaka protesting postponement of all ongoing examinations.
The agitating students blocked the road and halted vehicular movement at 9:00am, leading to a massive gridlock in the area.
