Farida Parveen tests Covid-19 positive

Ekushey Padak-winning singer Farida Parveen tested positive for coronavirus or Covid-19.

Confirming the information, Farida Parveen’s son Imam Zafar Nomani said, “My mother has been unwell for a few days. She took the Covid-19 test on April 7, and the result came out positive the following day.”

“My mother is currently at home and under special supervision as per the doctor’s advice,” he added.

Farida Parveen's songs have earned much appreciation from audiences both at home and abroad.

Born on December 31, 1954 in Shaol village of Singra Police Station in Natore, she started training in folk music under the instruction of Mokshed Ali Shah.

The singer, who was brought up in Kushtia, started out with Nazrul Sangeet in 1986 as a listed artiste of Rajshahi Betar. She won Ekushey Padak in 1987 for her outstanding contribution to the arena of music.
