Chand, Ratna to sing in ‘Tribeni’ tonight

Singer Fahmida Ratna was born and brought up in Dhaka although her village home is in Chapainawabganj. She learned music at Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts. She has been teaching music in that academy for nine years. Bhawaiya and Bhatiali songs are her choices. For three consecutive years from 2004 to 2006, she became the champion in the folk music category in the Padmakuri competition organised by the Bangladesh Federal Cultural Council. Another artiste Ataur Rahman Chand, hailing from Kurigram, received training on music at Shilpakala Academy. He is the cultural secretary of ‘Bhawaiya Gaaner Dal’ academy in Pallabi of the capital.

These two promising and talented singers will join the 57th episode of a live show titled ‘Tribeni’ at 10.00pm today (June 16).
