Sohel Rana put on life support

Eminent actor and freedom fighter Sohel Rana has been put on life support as his physical condition has deteriorated.

The actor was admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka on December 25, after testing positive for Covid-19. Later, he was put on life support at the hospital on Wednesday (December 29).

Jinat Begum, wife of the noted actor confirmed the matter.

Sohel Rana is a film actor, director and producer. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in the film, Ajante (1996), the Best Supporting Actor award for ‘Sahoshi Manush Chai’ (2003).

He produced Bangladesh’s first Liberation War movie “Ora Egaro Jon” and was honoured with the lifetime achievement award from the National Film Awards, among other accolades.
