Mojaheed found guilty of 5 charges

DHAKA, July 17: Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed has been found guilty of 5 charges out of all 7 charges he has been facing.
Among the seven charges no. 2 and 4 were not proven.
The second war crimes tribunal of Bangladesh has found Jamaat Secretary General guilty of abduction and killing of journalist Sirajuddin Hossain, then executive editor of Daily Ittefaq.
The 64 years old Jamaat leader Mojaheed faces the trial on seven counts of crimes against humanity, including genocide, murder, torture, conspiracy, planning incitement and complicity in atrocities during the 1971 Liberation War.
International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 chief Justice Obaidul Hassan first read out background to the verdict at 11:05am.
After that, Justice Shahinur Islam started reading out the 37-page executive summary of the 209-page judgement.
Justice Md Mujibur Rahman Mia read out the 3rd part of the verdict.
