Media reports help govt to take action immediately: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the reports of journalists against any irregularities and injustice help the government to take immediate action.

 At the same time, she also urged the journalist community to refrain from reports that create confusion among people.

The premier said this while virtually inaugurating the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) programmes marking its silver jubilee from her official Gonobhabon residence in the capital on Sunday (October 25).

Addressing the journalists, PM said, “You will work responsibly, inspired by patriotism and thinking of the welfare of people. Because your report helps the government a lot. After reading your reports published in different newspapers, we stand by the helpless people, we can prevent injustice, we can punish the criminals.”
