Dhaka’s rail communication suspended with rest of the country

The rail communication of Dhaka has been suspended with other parts of the country to prevent coronavirus infection.

The suspension is set to start from midnight on Tuesday (June 22) and will remain in force till June 30.

A press release issued by the Railway Ministry revealed the matter on Tuesday (June 22).

According to the press release, 22 intercity trains and 10 mail express and commuter trains have been declared suspended until further notice.

However, trains carrying container, fuel oil, food and freight trains will run during this period.

According to Bangladesh Railway sources, the government on Monday (June 21) imposed lockdown in seven districts to prevent coronavirus infection. The districts are Manikganj, Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Gazipur, Madaripur, Rajbari and Gopalganj.
