Punishment if anyone goes out without taking vaccine

People over the age of 18 will have to face punishment if they go out without taking vaccine from August 11. Nobody will be allowed to go to workplace including shops without getting vaccinated. Vaccination has been made mandatory for human movement. Punishment provisions will be laid down by issuing ordinances if necessary to ensure receiving the vaccine.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said this after presiding over an inter-ministerial meeting at the Cabinet Division in the secretariat on Tuesday (August 3).

He said, “Anyone over the age of 18 who moves without taking vaccine will be considered a punishable offense. If necessary, the government will issue an ordinance to provide punishment. As there is no parliamentary session now, an ordinance may be issued.”

The Minister said the health ministry will vaccinate one crore people within seven days. So anyone over the age of 18 takes street without a vaccine, will face punishment. Even if the shop is open, those concerned have to get vaccinated.”

He further said the ongoing restrictions have been extended till August 10 to prevent coronavirus infection.
