Africa returnees must stay in 14-day quarantine: Minister

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said, all the returnees from South Africa must stay in 14-day institutional quarantine in the wake of the spread of a new variant of Covid-19 Omicron.
The minister said this while visiting a sample test lab at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Thursday (December 2).
He said, if anyone tries to flee from the quarantine then action will be taken.
The minister also said that the returnees from African countries will be sent to institutional quarantine. If anyone flees from hotels then those hotels will also face punishment.
Military department, police and our health decorate will also take care of the issue, he added.
