Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Shafiqul Islam has said there is a risk of militant attacks during Durga Puja celebration. However, the enforcers are put on high alert to tackle such threat.
The DMP commissioner said this while addressing reporters after visiting security measures at Dhakeshwari Temple in the capital on Thursday (September 29).
He said, 50 boys are missing after leaving their home. We are investigating the matter. Apart from the police, various intelligence agencies are also trying to get information about these boys.
Shafiqul Islam also said, if these youths follow wrong track like the previous time, then militancy would rise again. Investigation is underway in this regard.
Three tier security measures were taken to ensure safety at Durga Puja mandaps across the country, he added.
