One killed as truck hits motorcycle in Motijheel

A man was killed in the capital’s Motijheel on Thursday night as a truck hit his motorcycle.

The deceased was identified as Pratap Rema, 55, an employee of a non-governmental organization.

Yakub Ali, sub-inspector of Motijheel Police Station, said the accident occurred around 11:00pm when Pratap was returning to his rented house from his Tejgaon office. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared him dead around 12.30pm.

Although the truck driver managed to flee, the vehicle was seized.

Pratap Rema hailed from Netrokona district.
