AL names candidates for 25 polls to 25 municipalities

The ruling Awami League (AL) picked its candidates for contesting elections to 25 municipalities across the country.

In a meeting, Awami League’s Local Government Nomination Board took the decision on Saturday (November 28). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting.

Division-wise names of the municipalities are -

In Rangpur: Zakia Sultana (Panchagarh), M KashirulnAlam (Pirganj), M Khawja Moin Uddin (Fulbari), M Ahsanul Huq Chowdhury (Badarganaj) and M Kaziul Islam (Kurigram).

In Rajshahi: M Rabiul Islam (Puthia), M Abbas Ali (Katakhali), Monir Akther Khan Toru Lodi (Shahjadpur) and Shakhwat Hossain Shakho (Chatmohor).

In Khulna: Al Masum Murshed (Khoksha), Sajat Kumar Biswas (Chalna), and Reazul Islam Zoardar (Chuadanga).

In Barisal: ABM Golam Kabir (Betagi), A Barek Molla (Kuakata), M Giauddin Bepari (Ujirpur) and M Lokman Hossain Dakua (Bakerganj).

In Mymensingh: SM Iqbal Hossain Suman (Gafargaon) and M Abdul Hannan Talukder (Madan).

In Sylhet: Biswajit Roy (Dirai), Abul Imam M Kamran Chowdhury (Borolekha) and M Masuduzzaman Masuq (Shayestaganj).
