Claiming the accurate figures of deaths and infections of the coronavirus, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the issue is related to people’s lives. The government should come up with a fair statement about it. The information that the government is giving about infections and deaths is not accurate.

He said this in a press briefing at the party chairperson’s Gulshan office in the capital on Sunday (January 03).

Mirza Fakhrul said, “The government is saying that 5,15,184 people had been infected with the coronavirus and 8,519 people had died of the deadly virus till yesterday. We have repeatedly stated that the information is not accurate.”

He said, “Many people are dying at home. But they are not reporting. They are not going to the hospital. they are dying or getting infected at home. The government’s policy of testing is not enough. We think it’s gross negligence.”
