Bangladesh lose Tamim, Shanto

Bangladesh lost Tamim Iqbal and Najmul Hossain Shanto at the beginning of the third day of the first Test in Chattogram on Friday.

Earlier, West Indies scored 259 runs with loss of all wickets in 96.1 overs in the third day of the first Test in Chattogram on Friday.

Mehidy Hasan and Nayeem Hasan struck a couple of quick blows in the space of five balls right on the cusp of tea, removing Jermaine Blackwood (68) and Joshua Da Silva (42), respectively, to perk up Bangladesh's hopes of pushing on for a substantial first-innings lead. The wickets followed after the two had put on a spirited 99-run partnership for the sixth wicket.

Taijul Islam removed Nkrumah Bonner on first ball of the third day.

Earlier on Thursday, Mustafizur Rahman struck twice early in Windies innings. He bagged the wickets of Shayne Moseley and John Campbell. Both of them were trapped LBW.

Before leaving the field Campbell managed to score 3 runs off 15 balls while Moseley took only 2 runs playing 23 balls.

On Wednesday, Bangladesh scored 242 for 5 at the close of play on the opening day of the first Test against the visitors.
