Rohingya leader hacked to death

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: A leader of Rohingya was hacked to death by unknown miscreants at Balukhali camp of Ukhia in Cox’s Bazar on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Arif Ullah, 34, son of Ekhlas of Balukhali no. 11 camp. He was the leader of Rohingya community at block- C of Balukhali no. 11 camp.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Cox’s Bazar sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.

Abul Khayer, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said, “The incident took place at Block- C of the camp around 10:30pm on Monday. Being informed, police recovered the body. Miscreants hacked him and slaughtered with sharp weapons to death.”

He said who killed him was not clear immediately. But, he might be killed over any dispute among Rohingyas.
