Youth lynched in Noakhali

Noakhali Correspondent: A youth named Yeasin Arafat (30) was killed in mass beating in the district on Tuesday night.

The incident took place around 8.30pm at Sahapur High School ground under Chatkhil Upazila.

The deceased Yeasin Arafat was the son of the late Golam Mostafa at Sahapur village. There were nine cases against him, police claimed.

Chatkhil Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahirul Anwar said that Arafat had been doing various acts of robbery in the area for a long time. He had nine cases including robbery, murder, arms and narcotics with Chatkhil, Luxmipur and Ramganj Police stations.

On Tuesday night, locals attacked Arafat and killed him on the spot. After getting the news, his body was recovered and sent to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy at around 10.00pm, the OC also said.
