Two injured in Sirajganj clash die

Sirajganj Correspondent: Two people, who were injured in a clash between two groups at Nalsondha village in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj, died early today.

The deceased were identified as Samiul Islam, 27, son of Abdul Hakim and Khairul Islam, 30, son of Shahidul Islam. Both were from Nalsondha village of the upazila.

Confirming the matter, Second Officer of Ullapara Model Police Station Pobitra Kumar said there had been a long-standing conflict between the two groups—Tofazzal group and Moynal group. Supporters of Moynal group carried out an attack on the men of Tofazzal group yesterday, leaving 15 people of both the groups injured.

Of the injured, Samiul and Khairul were admitted to Ullapara Upazila Health Complex. They were later shifted to Dhaka as their condition deteriorated. Samiul was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and Khairul was admitted to a private medical, the police official said.

Both of them succumbed to their injuries early today, he said.
