Five get death in Gazipur murder case

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A Gazipur court has sentenced five people to death penalty for killing a minor boy in 2008.

Judge Fazle Elahi Bhuiyan of Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-1 passed the order on Wednesday noon.

The death-row convicts are Shamim, son of Abdul Quadir of Brahmangaon area, Nurul Islam, son of Bachchu Mollah, Saddam Hossain, son of Maznu Sarker, Shafiqul, son of Abdus Salam, and Babu, son of Samir, of the same area.

Saddam and Babu were present in the court during the announcement of the judgment while other three were on run, according to Mokbul Hossain Kazol, Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) of the court.

He said the accused killed Mohiuddin, 15, son of Fazlur Rahman of Brahmangaon, on October 16, 2008. Later, Fazlur Rahman filed a case in this connection.
