President to address ‘Mujib 100-Year’ speech to nation

President M Abdul Hamid is set to address the nation on Tuesday evening on the occasion of the National Children’s Day and also ‘Mujib 100-Year’, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
It is a recorded speech, which will be telecast in the radio and television, as the ‘Mujib Barsha’ programmes were curtailed to avoid any mass gathering, fearing the recent outbreak of the fatal disease COVID-19 (coronavirus).
On the occasion, President’s recorded speech will be telecast immediately after opening of the fireworks at different venues across the country at 8pm, President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.
Besides, a doa mahfil and discussion will be held at Durbar Hall of the Bangabhaban in the evening on the day.
The head of the state, along with his Bangabhaban officials, will attend the milad mahfil at 6 pm, Abedin added.
