Residents living in risky hills urged to move to safe places

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Fearing fresh landslides in Chittagong due to persistent rain, the district administration has requested the residents living riskily on the foot of hills to move to safe places immediately.

Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Md Zillur Rahman Chowdhury made the request at an emergency message on Sunday morning.

The deputy commissioner said massive casualties are feared in the landslides likely to cause due to persistent rain and geological survey. Flood and river erosion are also feared due to these reasons.

Following the fears, a request has been made to the residents living riskily on the foot of hills to move to safe places immediately, he said.
