37 IU students bag science and technology fellowship

A total of 37 students from different departments of Islamic University have been selected for science and technology fellowship for conducting research under the Science and Technology Ministry, IU officials said on Monday.

Khan M Reza-Un-Nabi, deputy secretary of Ministry of Science and Technology, issued a press release in this regard on Sunday.

Those selected for the fellowship from Applied Nutrition and Food Technology department include Billal Hossain, Mainur Reja, Taiyeba Tansnima, Tarek Aziz and Rakibul Islam while Muntaha Binte Mukhles, Choyon Ali, Jannat Ferdous, Monira Akter, Sanjida Khantun, Jinia Afrin, Tasnim-E-Tarek Abir, Sharmin Akter, Rehena Akter, Walid Hasan, Ongkan Khan, Abdus Sabur and Jannatun Ferdaus Parfez are from Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department.

Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering department awardees are Sinthia Khatun, Sohana Parvin, Evana Islam, Tathiya Yeasmin, Kazi Suraiya Islam, Nusrat Jahan, Abu Saeed, Shamima Islam, Adnan Bin Alim, Harun-Or-Rashid and Afroza Akter and the awardees from Electrical and Electronic Engineering department include Selim Reza Jibon, Sabbir Ahmed, Esmat Jahan, Ali Hasan, Sonia Khatun and Nasir Uddin Khan.

On the other hand, Ruhul Amin of Information and Communication Technology department and Mamunur Rahman of Statistics department have also been selected for the fellowship.

IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam said that the students selected for the fellowship would light up the name of Islamic University after completing their research under the ministry.
