Seminar on Bangladeshi literature held at IU

A seminar on the origin and development of Bangladeshi literature in English was held at Islamic University in Kushtia on Monday.

The IU English department organised the seminar on the second floor of Rabindra-Nazrul Arts' faculty building in the morning.

IU English department Professor M Maher Ali addressed the seminar as the chief discussant with the department's chairperson Professor Mossammad Salma Sultana was in the chair.

Liton Boron Sikdar, an assistant Professor of the English department, conducted the seminar while Professor Miah M Rashiduzzaman, associate Professor Prodip Kumar Adhikari and assistant Professor Sazzad Hossain Zahid, spoke there.

Abdus Salam, a researcher of IU English department, presented the article under the supervision of the university's former vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari.

Around 50 teachers of different departments took part in the seminar.

Addressing the seminar, the speakers shed lights on the origin and development of Bangladeshi literature in Bangladesh and focused on the relevant writings of Bangladeshi writers.
