Woman gang-raped in Sylhet MC College: Case filed against 9

A case has been filed against nine people including Bangladesh Chhatra League leader Saifur in connection with the gang-rape of a woman at the hostel of Murari Chand (MC) College in Sylhet on Saturday night.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (Media and Community Service) Jyotirmoy Sarkar confirmed this on Saturday.    

Earlier on Friday (September 25) afternoon, a group of BCL leaders and activists forcibly confined a couple who were going to visit the college campus.

Later, the woman was gang-raped by BCL men at the hostel of Murari Chand College.

Police rescued the couple around 10:30 pm, but the accused managed to flee from the spot.
