Will appeal to High Court, Minni’s father

A Barguna court on Wednesday (September 30) sentenced six people including Ayesha Siddika Minni to death penalty in the sensational Rifat Sharif murder case.

In an immediate reaction, Minni’s father Mozammel Haque Kishore said, “My daughter is not criminal. I will appeal to the High Court (HC) against the verdict.”

He further said, “We are respectful to the law. My daughter was sentenced to death penalty, even she knew nothing about the incident. We will go to HC to prove her innocent.”

Nine accused including Minni was present in the court while another accused Musa Bond was fugitive. In the verdict, four accused were acquitted as charges brought against them could not be proved.

Death-row convicts are Rakibul Hasan Rifat Faraji (23), Al Kaiyum alias Rabbi Akond (21), Mohiminul Islam Sifat (19), Rejwan Ali Khan alias Tiktok Redoy (22), Md Hasan (19) and Ayesha Siddika Minni (19).
Four persons who were acquitted in the case. They are  Musa (22), Rafiul Islam Rabbi (20), Sagor (19) and Kamrul Islam Saimun (21).
