6 get life term for killing man in Tangail

A court in Tangail on Thursday sentenced six people to life term imprisonment each for killing a man in Sadar upazila of Tangail district in 1998.

Additional district and session judge Saud Hasan passed the order on Thursday (October 29).

The convicts are – Abdul Kader, son of Abul Hossain, Chan Khan, son of later Insar Khan, Shaheed, son of later Nuru Mandal, Wazed, son of Nedu Hazi, Abul and Rupchan, son of later Juran Mandal.

The court also fined Tk20,000 each or more six-month imprisonment in default.

Lawyer S Akbar Ali Khan said, following previous enmity, the convicted persons killed Bahadur Khan, son of later Moghol Khan, of Rashidpur village of the upazila on November 22, 1998.

Later, the victim’s brother Abdul Kuddus filed a case with Tangail Sadar police station.
