3 killed in Cox’s Bazar gas cylinder blast

At least three people were killed and 10 others injured in a hydrogen gas cylinder explosion in Matarbari area in Moheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Friday (January 22).

Of the deceased one was known as Mohammad Ehsan, 12, son of Jahangir Alam. Others remained unidentified instantly.

Local Union Parishad Chairman Mohammad Ullah confirmed the matter.

Mohammad Ullah said, the incident took place on Azizia Kasemul Ulum Madrasa premises around 11:00am at Matarbari’s Nuton Bazar area when a balloon seller filling balloons with gas.

Meanwhile, couple of minors were injured. Later, the injured were sent to Matarbari Health Complex.
