Road accident leaves SI dead

A sub-inspector (SI) of police has been killed in a road accident in Ashulia of Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka.

The SI was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle on Tongi-Ashulia-EPZ road in Ashulia of Savar on Sunday (March 7) morning.

The deceased was identified as Md Monaim. He was the sub-inspector of Ashulia industrial police-1.

Sub-inspector (SI) of Ashulia Police Station Faridul Haque said, “The unknown vehicle hit him while he was crossing the road after ‘Fajr’ prayer in the area, leaving him dead on the spot.”

Faridul Haque further said that the body will be sent to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
