Students of seven government colleges affiliated with Dhaka University are staging demonstration at Nilkhet intersection in the capital demanding resumption of exams after reopening residential halls and campuses very soon.
The demonstrating students took a position at the Nilkhet intersection around 11:00am on Thursday (June 03).
Many of the students belonging to the seven affiliated colleges are now staying at their respective residences since the educational institutions and residential halls were declared shut due to the coronavirus pandemic. Before the pandemic, they used to study at their campus halls, claimed the agitating students.
Under this situation, students are sure to face great trouble if in-person examinations are taken. To attend the examinations, they will have to come to Dhaka and live at a mess at the cost of huge money which is not possible for many poor students, they further claimed.
Considering all these things, students took to the streets and placed their demand of resuming exams after reopening residential halls and campuses very soon.
