Khaleda Zia’s health condition deteriorates

The physical condition of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the city, has deteriorated further.
According to BNP sources, Khaleda Zia’s health condition started getting worse from Sunday (September 3) night. Party’s General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir went to see her at the hospital. There was no improvement came on Sunday and Monday. The doctors of the medical board formed for her treatment held a meeting on Monday night. The doctors decided to change some medicines and keep her under close observation.
Dr Rafiqul Islam, health affairs secretary of BNP, said Khaleda Zia’s health has further deteriorated, with no signs of improvement even 28 days into her hospitalisation at Evercare Hospital.
Her liver-related complications have increased and doctors are keeping her under constant observation, he said.
Khaleda Zia, the former Prime Minister, has been suffering from various ailments, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung, heart and eye problems.The BNP chairperson was admitted to the hospital on August 9.
