Webinar on NGO’s role held at KU

A webinar on the role of non-government organisations (NGOs) in providing legal assistance to government with the support of USAID’s Promoting Peace and Justice (PPJ) Activity was held at the Law Discipline of Khulna University on September 22.

The Dean of Law School of the university Professor Dr. Md. Waliul Hasanat gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the webinar held around 10am.

Chief of Party for USAID’s PPJ Activity Charles Jacosa spoke about the purpose of the webinar while District Judge and Director of the National Legal Aid Services Organization Md. Saiful Islam delivered a concise and instructive speech on the role, activities of the organization and the provision of legal aid.

Research specialist Takbir Huda, Assistant Director Taposi Rabea, program head of BRAC's Human Rights, Legal Aid Service Shahriar Sadat and KU’s Assistant Professor Punam Chakraborty were also present, among others in the program while Mostafa Kamal and Wahida Begum moderated the session.

A question-answer session was also held at the end of the webinar.
