No Eid congregation at Sholakia

The authorities concerned have suspended the Eid-ul-Fitr Jamaat (congregation) at the historic Sholakia Eidgah Maidan in Kishoreganj this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Md Shamim Alam, Sholakia Eidgah Committee President, also Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kishoreganj, confirmed the matter.

He said, “Eidgah committee meeting has already been held. The current Covid-19 situation in the country has been taken into consideration in the meeting. Later, considering the risk and safety of the lives of the worshipers, it was decided to hold the Eid Jamaat in the mosque instead of the open space. So more than one congregation will be held in the same mosque.”

He further said that to hold Eid congregation in the mosque, the hygiene rules should be followed and the place of prayers should be cleaned.
