Dhaka’s rail communication with rest of the country snapped

The rail communication of Dhaka with other parts of the country has been suspended as three compartments of a freight train derailed at Tongi in Gazipur on Tuesday (September 21) morning.

The train derailed around 10:30am in the area.

Nur Mohammad, in-charge of Tongi Rail Station Police Outpost, confirmed the matter.

He said that the higher authorities have been informed to normalise the train movement. A rescue train will reach the spot soon.
