Iqbal being taken to Cumilla

Iqbal Hossain, the man who allegedly placed the Holy Quran at the Nanua Dighir Par puja mandap in Cumilla city on October 13, was arrested in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday night.

After primary interrogation, he was being taken to Cumilla. A police squad with Iqbal Hossain started their journey for Cumilla around 6.20am on Friday.

Cumilla Assistant Police Super (Sadar circle) Md Sohan Sarkar is leading the squad.

Additional Superintendent of Cox's Bazar district police Rafiqul Islam said after primary interrogation, Iqbal Hossain had been handed over to Cumilla police.
