No assignment in primary, institutions to evaluate

Considering the situation, this time all students of primary schools are being taken to the next class without any examination. However, the students will be evaluated by the teachers of respective educational institutions on the basis of classes conducted during the first two and a half months of this year and the educational programmes conducted during Covid-19.

Alamgir Muhammad Mansurul Alam, Director General (DG) of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, said this on Monday (November 23).

He said, “Primary students attended classes till March 16. At that time, their class tests were held, the teachers taught, now they will be evaluated. He said that considering the age of primary students, assignments like secondary are not being given.”

“Educational activities that have been conducted on parliamentary television, radio, community radio and zoom platforms during the holidays of coronavirus pandemic will also be evaluated,” he added.

He further said, “Many teachers and students have gone from house to house to study during the holidays, adding that they will also evaluate them.”

Apart from this, the teachers have assisted the students in various ways through mobile phones, the data of which is available to the teachers, all these will also be evaluated. Even if these issues are assessed, it will not have any effect on the next class.

All the educational institutions of the country had been closed from March 17 as coronavirus outbreak began. As the epidemic situation has not improved much, the government is not taking the annual exams of class-5 and class-8.
