Primary school teachers to get salaries directly in accounts

From January next year, teachers of government primary schools will receive salaries and allowances directly in their bank accounts through electronic funds transfer (EFT) via the government-to-person payment system.

It is learnt that a letter in this regard was sent to Finance Division last Thursday (November 26).

The letter signed by Deputy Secretary of Finance Division Touhidul Islam said as part of the digital system, the government has taken an initiative like gazetted employees, non- gazetted employees will get salaries and allowances directly in their bank accounts through electronic funds transfer (EFT) via the government-to-person payment system.

Following this, an action plan has been taken to send salaries and allowances of all government primary school teachers in their bank accounts through electronic funds transfer (EFT) from January 1, the letter also said.

Teachers face a lot of problems due to payment of salaries and allowances by the traditional manual system, sources said.
