Universities to reopen after Sept 27

The registration of coronavirus vaccine for the university student will be completed by the next September 27. The university authorities then started teaching with the approval of the respective academic council and decided to open halls.

The decision was taken at a meeting held on Tuesday (September 14) among Education Ministry, UGC, vice chancellors of public universities and top health officials.

MA Khair, public relations officer (PRO) of the Education Ministry, confirmed the matter.

He said, “Students of all public and private universities must have to complete registration for getting coronavirus vaccine by September 27. Then, the university authorities can start teaching activities with the approval of the respective academic council. The university can reopen the halls if the authorities want. However, in that case, they will have to start vaccination activities by setting up health centers on the respective university campuses.”

He further said, “University students who do not have national identity (NID) card will be able to register using birth registration card. In this case, they have to send their birth registration numbers to UGC. Then, those students will be able to register for the vaccine by adding the birth registration number to Surokkha App.”
