Education Minister not going to SUST in person

Education Minister Dipu Moni is not traveling to the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in Sylhet in-person for personal issue. However, the agitating students want a delegation will be sent there to to find a solution to the ongoing stalemate at the institution.
The Minister made the disclosure in a press briefing at 8:00 pm on Saturday (January 22), after holding a meeting a delegation of SUST teachers.
Urging the students for discussion, Dipu Moni said, “We all want solution. So, we need to sit for discussion. The door is always open for the students for holding discussion to find out a solution of the ongoing crisis. The discussion will be held whenever they want. I cannot go to meet them in person for personal issues. A delegation on behalf of me will travel there if the students want.”
She further said, “We are taking information about the agitating students every moment. Arrangement has been made for treatment of the students who fell sick. A delegation will go there whenever the students want to discuss.”
Dipu Moni said, “I had talks with the agitating students who are demonstrating through our political delegate. I told them that the crisis could be resolved through discussion. Then they told me that they would come Dhaka today (Saturday). Later, they had informed us that they could not come leaving the students on hunger.”
