SAU gets new VC

Professor Md Jamal Uddin Bhuiyan has been appointed as new vice-chancellor (VC) of Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU).

The university public relation and publicity affairs department confirmed the appointment in a press release signed by deputy secretary Rokhsana Begum.

The press release was issued in this regard on Monday (November 21) according to the order of President Md Abdul Hamid, also chancellor of the university.

The president appointed the university’s Parasitology department professor Md Jamal Uddin Bhuiyan as vice-chancellor for next four years.

Professor Jamal Uddin is the president of Sylhet chapter of the Agriculturist Institution of Bangladesh and the president of the Sylhet Agricultural University Teachers Association.

Professor Jamal Uddin, born in Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria district, is the father of a son and a daughter.
