1245 health workers infected with coronavirus

A total of 1,245 health workers have been detected with coronavirus positive across the country. Of them, 513 are doctors while 310 nurses.

Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) confirmed the news on Wednesday afternoon.

BMA office secretary Prof Dr Shahid Ullah said, “A total of 1,245 health workers including physicians and nurses were tested positive for coronavirus across the country.”

However, Foundation for Doctors Safety Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR) claimed that the total number of infected doctors are 593.

FDSR publicity and publication secretary Dr Shahed Imran made the claim.

He said, “Out of the 593 infected physicians, 425 are in Dhaka while 9 in Barisal, 44 in Khulna, 18 in Chattogram, 61 in Mymensingh, 10 in Rangpur, 23 in Sylhet and 3 in Rajshahi.”

Mentionable, Bangladesh’s coronavirus cases reached 11,719 while the death toll climbed to 186 so far.
